Career
Joselito was born in Beas de Segura (Jaén), northeast Andalucia in Spain.

Spanish film studios were looking for a new kid star to follow the steps of Pablito Calvoand make widespread and populist folkloric movies, which were big box-office hits in Spain during Francisco Franco 's dictatorship. However, life was not too glamorous for Joselito, as he was treated almost as a sideshow act by his managers, not allowing him to become the teenager he was that was a milestone in Spanish "child prodigies" under Franco: trying to keep them as little kids for as lengthy as possibleand even locking him in his room between rehearsals so he couldn't meet girls.Joselito made his film debut at the age of 13 and began making other films, including The Little Nightingale, The Song of the Nightingale, The Nightingale in the Mountains, Listen To My Song, The Minute Colonel, Aventuras de Joselito en América, The Two Little Rascals, Lovely Memory, and The Light Horse with Antonio Aguilar.
Besides acting, Joselito was a well-liked child singer with a very distinguished voice having sung such songs as "La Campanera", "Dónde estará mi vida", "Gorrioncillo pecho amarillo", "En un pueblito español", "Clavelitos", "Doce Cascabeles", "Las Golondrinas", "El Pastor", "Granada" and "Ave María".
He toured several countries in his youth.
He was out of the public eye until adulthood, when he became a media entrepreneur.

Joselito was born in Beas de Segura (Jaén), northeast Andalucia in Spain.In , he was arrested by Angolan authorities on charges of gun and drug trafficking. Subsequently, he was deported to Spain, where he was jailed. In La Jaula del Ruiseñor was released, an authorized biography of Joselito's life.[1] There he wrote that jail was the top thing that had ever happened to him and that it had helped him to overcome his drug addiction as adv as to give him a different outlook on life.[2][3]
Upon his release, he has participated in the Spanish version of the Survivor television series, and collaborated on the movie Spanish Movie, and he is currently living in Utiel (Valencia).
