Justin Cronin (born ) is an American author.

He has written six novels: Mary and O'Neil, The Ferryman, and The Summer Guest, as well as a vampire trilogy consisting of The Passage,The Twelve and The City of Mirrors.

Nineteen hundred and sixty two New England saw the birth of Justin Cronin, an author who would, rather rapidly, rise to success, critical acclaim and award winning heights in American literary society. Cronin continued to reside in New England throughout his childhood and adolescence. Started inthis creative graduate-level writing program at the University of Iowa has highly sought after programs for prospective writers. He he now resides in Houston, Texas, with his wife and children.

He has won the PEN/Hemingway Award for Debut Novel, the Stephen Crane Prize, and a Whiting Award.[1]

Born and raised in New England, Cronin is a graduate of Harvard University and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop.

He taught creative writing and was the "Author in-residence" at La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from to He is a former professor of English at Rice University, and he lives with his wife and children in Houston, Texas.[2]

In July , Variety reported that Fox had bought the screen rights to Cronin's vampire trilogy.[3] The first book of the series, The Passage, was released in June [4] It garnered mainly favorable reviews.[5][6] The book has been adapted by Fox into a television series, with Cronin credited as a co-producer.[7]
