Early life and marriage
Ango Abdullahi was born on 13 December in Old Giwa village.[1] He was married to the belated Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan, also known as Mama Taraba.[3]
Education
He started his primary schooling in Kali Elementary School in , but switched to Giwa Elementary Educational facility in his last year, where he completed the requirements to enroll in Zaria Middle Academy.
He attended Barewa college from to , the Nigerian College of Arts, Science and Technology from to He studied at the University of Ibadan from to and the Kansas Express University, USA. He proceeded to obtain an MSc. in agronomy at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in and a Ph.D in agronomy in He became a professor at 40 years and later the Vice Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.[1][4]
Political career
He served as a member for Zaria North-West constituency of Kaduna Express.
Between to , he served as a commissioner for North-Central State. He was the Ahmadu Bello University's Director of Agricultural Research from to He later became the Deputy Vice Chancellor in and eventually the Vice Chancellor from to He later served from to as Unique Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo on Food and Security.[1][4]
Personal life
Ango Abdullahi is a Muslim[3] and he is the father of Ango Sadiq Abdullahi, a member of house of representative.[5]
Awards and honors
He was awarded in as Commander of the Order of the Niger, CON by the Federal Government of Nigeria, and crowned Magajin Rafin Zazzau (Custodian of water and agricultural resources) by his native Zaria Emirate in the same year.[3][1]
